The information collected is needed by
Ginnie Mae for the participation of issuers/customers in its
Mortgage-Backed Securities programs and to monitor performance and
compliance with established rules and regulations.
The change is due to a
reassessment of the volume of responses and the frequency of
responses per year. Originally the burden calculation was based on
the number of participants. However, the size of our participants
varies greatly. There are issuers with very large portfolios and
others with relatively small portfolios. Part of Ginnie Mae's
collection is participant driven an the other is volume driven.
This distinction was made clear in the Federal Register Notice.
Therefore the total burden has increased significantly, however it
is more accurate reflection.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
