pdfATSDR Marines Health Survey
This podcast is presented by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. CDC – safer, healthier people.
Did you work or live at Camp Lejeune or Camp Pendleton between 1972 and 1985? The Agency
for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, ATSDR, with the support of the U.S. Marine Corps,
is conducting a survey to learn about your health. Your input is important. If you get a survey –
please fill it out and return it.
The survey will ask about when and where you lived or worked at Camp Lejeune or Camp
Pendleton, as well as your work and health history.
More than 300,000 people will receive a survey in the mail between June and December 2011,
but not everyone who lived or worked at the bases will get one. People who receive the survey
can choose to complete and submit the paper version or complete and submit it online.
Surveys are being mailed to the following groups:
• Former marines and sailors stationed at Camp Lejeune anytime between 1975 and 1985,
• Civilian employees who worked there anytime between 1972 and1985,
• Participants in the previous 1999 to 2002 ATSDR survey,
• A sample of marines, sailors, and civilian employees who lived or worked at Camp
Pendleton anytime between 1972 and1985, and
• Persons who registered with the US Marine Corps before June 15, 2011.
The findings are expected to be released in early 2014. More information can be found at
