Evaluation of Emergency Preparedness Materials for Limited English Proficient Spanish-Speakers

Adult Spanish-speakers with limited English proficiency. This population will be divided into
three subgroups. See Attachment A-Protocol Summary and Attachment B-Full Protocol for
details.

Age range: 18 years of age and older

Risk communication is a top priority in CDC's anthrax preparedness activities. The Anthrax
Management Team within CDC has developed materials to provide LEP Spanish-speakers with
information needed to increase the chances for survival in the event that bioterrorists attacked
the U.S. using anthrax. Once refined based on participant feedback, these materials will be used

The funding and Interagency Agreement (IAA) with the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and
Education (ORISE), managed by Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) for the
Department of Energy (DOE), expires in September 2014.
