NIDA’s STUDY OF SUBSTANCE ABUSE DOC.COM MODULE PROJECT

April 2011

Attachment A1: Email Invitation to Medical Students

Dear MS2s (or MS3s):

I am the Principal Investigator of a National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) sponsored research study of medical students to assess how well an interactive online teaching module can enhance the knowledge of healthcare professionals about substance use disorders, their attitudes toward patients with substance use disorders, and their skills and degree of confidence in communicating about substance use with their patients.

I would like to speak with you during one of your regularly scheduled classes to explain the study to you and invite you to participate. Participants in the study will receive modest gift cards as incentives.

Your participation in this research study is voluntary. There is no penalty if you choose not to join the research study.

I look forward talking to you!

(Investigator)
