In May 2007, the FCC released the Second Report and Order, Digital Audio Broadcasting Systems and Their Impact on the Terrestrial Radio Broadcast Service, FCC 07-33, MM Docket 99-325. Provisions of the Order require station ID requirements (Sec. 73.1201(b)(1)) for Digital Audio Broadcasting stations to facilitate public participation in the regulatory process. Sec. 73.1201(a) requires TV broadcasters to make station ID announcements at the beginning/ending of each time of operation, hourly, and at natural breaks in programming. It requires the station IDs to consist of call letters followed by the community(ies) of the station. TV/Class A TV stations announcements can be visual or aural. Sec. 74.783(b) requires TV translators, whose station ID is made by the TV station whose signals are being rebroadcast, to furnish contact information. Sec. 74.1283(c) (1) requires an FM translators whose ID is made by the primary station to furnish current contact information. The Federal Communication Commission is seeking a non-substantive change request for information collection 3060-0466. The Commission previously underestimated the station number totals for the respondents to this information collection when the collection was approved in 2010. This submission corrects the number of respondents and in turn will also increase the number of responses and burden hours because of the increase/correction to the number of respondents.
