Abstract: Policymakers know very little about what works to prevent homelessness. Since homelessness prevention and rapid re-housing programs that target veterans did not exist previously and are untested, Congress authorized the Veterans Homelessness Prevention Demonstration (VHPD) to explore different interventions aimed at keeping veterans stably housed. The VHPD Evaluation will test the effectiveness of the VHPD interventions.
