The Uniform Grant Application for Non-Entitlement Discretionary Grants, OMB Number 0584-0512, expiration 9/30/2012 allows the Food and Nutrition Service to add programs to the list of approved programs that use this generic clearance process periodically, provided that approval is obtained in advance.
The Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) is requesting OMB approval to add the Administer Researcher-Initiated Grants for Research on the WIC Program to the list of approved projects. FNS intends to award funding to 3 grants involving researcher-initiated projects to demonstrate creative approaches to evaluate or develop aspects of the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), coordinate activities among researchers, and widely disseminate findings. We are estimating 3,624 hours (2,625 hours of pre-award and 1,224 hours for post-award reporting) annually to the public to respond to the Request for Applications to operate these demonstrations.
