Dear Mr. Botwin,
I am writing to ask your office to continue the Sector-by-Sector, Tier-by-Tier (S2T2)
survey work that you have undertaken on behalf of the Department of Defense's Office of
Manufacturing and Industrial Base Policy. We began the work last year with a baseline
assessment across all sectors and tiers, and the next step is to follow up with more intensive
investigation of the industry that supports DoD's programs in Command, Control,
Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR). We will
provide an addition $250,000, split between FY12 and FY13 dollars, to support this continued
survey effort as part of the S2T2 project.
