Task A

Appendix A: Focus Group Screener

Introduction: Hello, my name is __________ and I am calling on behalf of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, also known as NIOSH. I want to assure you that this is not a sales call. NIOSH conducts health hazard evaluations at work sites across the United States.

We’re conducting a study about employee and employer reactions to the materials that NIOSH uses to explain their program and services. As an employer (or employee), we consider your input critical in helping improve these materials. Would you be interested in participating in a focus group, which would last two hours with about 7 other people? We would pay you $75 for your participation. We would also validate your parking at our facility. Finally, a light meal will be served during the focus group.

Would you be interested in participating?
