This survey will be used in monitoring
U.S. international insurance transactions, analyzing their impact
on the U.S. and foreign economies, compiling the international
transactions, national income and product, and input-output
accounts of the United States, supporting U.S. international trade
policy on insurance services, assessing U.S. competitiveness in
international trade in services, and improving the ability of U.S.
businesses to identify and evaluate market opportunities.
Respondents will be U.S. insurance companies that do business
internationally.
The estimated change in the
burden hours is an increase of 5,840 hours. This is an adjustment
caused by 1) an increase from 960 to 1,900, in the estimated number
of mandatory respondents meeting the (unchanged) requirements for
filing on an annual basis and 2) a decrease from 8 hours to 1 hour,
in the average burden for the 240 other responses. The average
burden level remains at 8 hours for mandatory responses and changes
to 1 hour for other responses. The new estimateed annual respondent
burden is 15,440 hours.
