This form should be completed only once at the end of the 2009 model year to determine the maximum number of Class I and Class II Phase 2 credits that may be used to demonstrate compliance with the Class I and Class II Phase 3 exhaust emission standards. The number of credits calculated in this form does not represent the actual number of Class I and II Phase 2 credits a manufacturer owns; rather, it acts as a cap for the number of credits that may be applied for compliance. The credits may be used in the 2012 and 2013 model years for Class I engines and in the 2011 through 2013 model years for Class II engines only after all transitional credits from engines meeting Phase 3 standards have been exhausted.
