Effective October 1, 2011, per Secretarial Order 3299, BOEMRE was split into two bureaus: the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) and the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE). There are only a few regulatory requirements from 30 CFR 250, Subpart K, Oil and Gas Production Rates (1010-0041) that will remain under BOEM’s regulatory responsibility. The remainder of the Subpart K regulations and information collection has been transferred to BSEE’s regulatory authority. Therefore, to facilitate the transfer, we are consolidating BOEM’s requirements from 1010-0041 (30 CFR 550.1153-55, 1165-67, 22,838 burden hours) into the BOEM general collection for Part 550, OMB Control Number 1010-0114, 30 CFR 550, General. After OMB approves the consolidation, the remaining collection of 1010-0041 will be transferred to BSEE under the 1014 control number series.
