PAPERWORK REDUCTION ACT AND PRIVACY ACT
STATEMENT-- REPORTING
According to the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, no persons are required to respond to a
collection of information unless such collection displays a valid OMB control number. The
OMB control numbers for the applicable collections are 0430-0004 (expiration 07/31/2013)
and 9000-0166, 9000-0167, 9000-0168 and 9000-0169 (expiration 10/31/2013).
Pursuant to 5 U.S.C. 552a(e)(3), enacted into law by Section 3 of the Privacy Act of 1974
(Pub. L. 93-579), the following statement is furnished to individuals who supply information to
the Section 1512 Data System (1512 Data System). This information is maintained in the
system of records designated as RATB-9, described as amended at 76 Fed. Reg. 27104 (May
10, 2011). Pursuant to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Pub. L. 111-5),
the information reported will be used to provide the public with information as to how the
government spends money. The information will also be used to assist with the prevention of
fraud, waste, and mismanagement of Recovery funds and other federal funds for which the
Board has been assigned oversight responsibilities. Specifically, 1512 Data System records
will be used to collect information about recipients' use of Recovery funds and other federal
funds, as well as to populate public-facing government websites. The system has additional
uses that include: investigation of possible fraud, waste, abuse, and mismanagement of
Recovery funds; litigation purposes related to information reported to the Board; and
contacting the recipient in the event of a system modification or change to
FederalReporting.gov, including the data elements required to be reported.
The Board may disclose information contained in a record in this system of records under the
routine uses listed in the Federal Register (see 76 Fed. Reg. 27104, 27104-05) without the
consent of the individual if the disclosure is compatible with the purposes for which the record
was collected.
Recipients who have failed to submit a Section 1512 report as required by the terms of their
award are considered to be non-compliant. Non-compliant recipients may be subject to
federal action, including but not limited to the termination of federal funding.
