Pretest Debriefing Guide

Introduction

  • Thank person again for helping us to pre-test the survey.

Questions

  1. Before we get into some specific questions, please tell me/us your overall impression of the guide/interview. (What is your basic reaction? Are there any major problems?)

  1. Timing: We just spent x minutes on the interview. Keeping in mind that this will be an in-person interview, do you think the amount of time was adequate, too long, about right?

    1. If too long, are there particular questions/topics you would suggest cutting and why?

    2. Do you think it would have been helpful if you could have compiled some of this information in advance (e.g., should we be sending some questions to respondents in advance of the interview? If so what particular questions

  1. Clarity/Question Content: Were there any particular questions that were not clear or did not make sense? Were there any terms or phrases used that were not clear or did not make sense? Or even if they did make sense, are there better (more familiar to other respondents) terms you would recommend?

  1. Potential for Bias: Did you feel any pressure to answer questions in a certain way Would others?

  1. Are there any really important topics/issues having to do with the FDPIR program or project outcomes that we missed?

  1. Do you have any other comments or impressions about the survey?

THANK YOU!
