0596-NEW 2013 ARNF TRANSPORTATION SURVEY
Respondents who are contacted for the information collection will be read the following script:
“Hello, my name is _________. I am conducting a survey for the US Forest Service to better understand your attitudes toward transportation and visitor use in this area of the Arapaho Roosevelt National Forest. Participation is voluntary and all the responses are anonymous. Would you be willing to spend a few minutes to answer some important questions regarding your visit here? This will only take about 10 minutes.”
If
“NO” then, “Thank you, I hope you enjoyed your
visit.”
If
“YES” then, “Thank you, has any member of your
group (friends and/or family with whom you are here today)
participated in this survey before?”
If “YES” then, “Thank you for participating in this study but you have already provided us with the information we need. Have a great day.”
If “NO” then, “Thank you for agreeing to participate in this study. The results from this survey will help the Forest Service improve transportation, recreation experiences, and resource management in this area.”
PRIVACY ACT STATEMENT
16 U.S.C. 1a-7 authorizes collection of this information. This information will be used by USDA Forest Service managers to better serve the public. Response to this request is voluntary. No action may be taken against you for refusing to supply the information requested. . Thus the permanent data will be anonymous. Data collected through visitor surveys may be disclosed to the Department of Justice when relevant to litigation or anticipated litigation, or to appropriate Federal, State, local or foreign agencies responsible for investigating or prosecuting a violation of law.
Burden Statement
According to the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, an agency may not conduct or sponsor, and a person is not required to respond to a collection of information unless it displays a valid OMB control number. The valid OMB control number for this information collection is 0596-NEW. The time required to complete this information collection is estimated to average 1minute per response, including the time for reviewing instructions, searching existing data sources, gathering and maintaining the data needed, and completing and reviewing the collection of information.
