This is a request to renew this ICR and consolidate two other ICR's into this one. EPA ICR's No. 1488.08, OMB Control No. 2050-0095 "Superfund Site Evaluation and Hazard Ranking System(Renewal)" and ICR No. 1463.09, OMB Control No. 2050-0096 "National Oil and Hazardous Substance Pollution Contingency Plan (NCP)(Renewal)" are being consolidated into EPA ICR No. 1487.11, OMB Control No. 2050-0179 "Consolidated Superfund Information Collection Request (Renewal)." This ICR authorizes the collection of information under EPA's Superfund Rule at 40 CFR Part 35, Subpart O, that establishes the administrative requirements for CERCLA-funded cooperative agreements for State, political subdivisions, and Federally-recognized Indian Tribes and Tribal Consortia response actions. The regulation includes only those provisions mandated by CERCLA, required by OMB circulars, or added by EPA to ensure sound and effective financial assistance management under this regulation. The information is collected from applicants and/or recipients of EPA assistance and is used to make awards, pay recipients, and collect information on how Federal funds are being utilized. EPA requires this information to meet its Federal stewardship responsibilities. Recipient responses are required to obtain a benefit (Federal funds) under 40 CFR Part 31, "Uniform Administrative Requirements for Grants and Cooperative Agreements to State and Local Governments" and under 40 CFR Part 35, "State and Local Assistance."

As a result of the consolidation of three ICR's into one, the burden for this ICR is being increased. The consolidation will help to streamline the program's information collection efforts. The Cooperative Agreements IC will have an increase in hours due to an increase of 106 respondents expected to report in the next collection period.
