Medicare Advantage organizations
(including MA plans and demonstrations) will collect information on
appeals and grievance timeliness measures as well as dispositions.
MA organizations will provide appeals and grievance information to
individuals eligible to elect an MA organization, when requested,
to help them make informed decisions about health plan
performance.
While there are no program
changes, the burden has been adjusted which is based on: (1) An
increase in the number of MA organizations reporting this data
(from 629 to 670 MA organizations + demonstrations); and (2)
Consequent revisions to our estimates to reflect the increases and
costs associated with producing appeals and grievance data reports
for all 670 MA organizations.
