Comment:
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) received comments from a Consumer Advocate Group supporting the continuation of the currently approved collection of information regarding individuals in nursing homes working as paid feeding assistants after having successfully completed a state- approved training course, as outlined in CMS-10053.
Response:
CMS thanks the commenter for their support for the continuation of this record collection process. CMS agrees with the commenter’s reasons for the necessity of this record collection. “A record is necessary for the protection and well-being of the residents and a record is necessary to determine compliance with federal regulations.” CMS further supports the statement made by the commenter that maintaining this record requires minimal effort.
