Federal Register Notice on Revised
CMS-64 (OMB Number: 0938-0067)
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) received a comment from the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) in regards to the Federal Register Notice of March 15, 2013 for the CMS, Form CMS-64 (OMB Number: 0938-0067).

The Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) noted that it strongly supports CMS for Form CMS-64 and that it is the only data source for timely national and state estimates of Medicaid expenditures, which is a key component in BEA’s economic statistics. The BEA also requested that CMS keep them informed on any modifications to the forms stating that they are particularly interested in any modifications proposed during the forms’ approval process that would substantially affect their use of the data.
CMS Response
CMS appreciates BEA’s support and use of the CMS-64 Form as a reliable source of Medicaid and CHIP expenditure data and will continue to keep BEA informed of any modifications to the Form CMS-64 that may occur in the future.
