This collection request is for the
United States Mint to conduct the second phase of research study
that aims to inventory the various multi-year spend trajectories
(e.g., spend increases substantially, spend decreases
substantially, customer stops purchasing altogether, etc.) observed
in the United States Mint customer base and to understand the
factors that contribute to these trajectories. The first phase of
this study has already started and consists of qualitative in-depth
interviews. This second phase uses the responses from the first
phase to inform a web-based quantitative survey.
It is essential to the
mission of the United States Mint to conduct surveys to comply with
Executive Order 12862. Not conducting surveys to complete
quantitative and qualitative research studies impacts the mission
by not adequately utilizing or responding to customer feedback.
Additionally, federal agencies are under constraints to best
utilize funding resources and conducting this survey will also
ensure federal funding is properly used and expended to support
agency programs.
