NOTICE – 2013 Changes to the Quarterly Survey of Selected Non-Property Taxes
Effective with the third quarter of 2013, the Census Bureau changed the name of the
Quarterly Survey of Non-Property Taxes to the Quarterly Survey of Selected Non-Property
Taxes. At this time, we implemented several other modifications and improvements to the
survey.
We are providing an improved electronic reporting instrument, Centurion, to make
responding to the survey easier. Centurion offers new features including viewable
auto-summed totals and a user-friendly interface. Please respond online
at: respond.census.gov/f73. Use the User ID and password on the enclosed
questionnaire to log in and complete the form.
Centurion is only available for capturing third quarter 2013 data and beyond. If you need to
provide revisions to data previously reported, please call 1-866-880-9010 and an analyst will
assist you with your revisions.
We have also reduced the number of questions on the survey from eleven questions to
three questions. The revised form covers general sales and gross receipts taxes, personal
income taxes, and corporate income taxes. The form eliminates collections for motor fuel
sales tax, public utilities sales tax, alcohol sales tax, tobacco sales tax, motor vehicle
licenses and operator’s licenses, and all other non-property taxes.
If you need assistance with your response, please call 1-866-880-9010 weekdays between
7 AM and 5 PM ET, or by email at [email protected].
