As a manager of recruiting and retention, I speak daily with
driver applicants and current employees. What I’ve found is
that applicants actually want to work at carrier that uses
electronic logs. Their three primary reasons are that (1) a
company that uses e-logs is not going to force them into a
situation where they deliberately falsify their logs; (2) a
company that invests in e-logs probably takes safety
seriously, which will make it a better long-term work
environment; and (3) e-logs reduce the paperwork burden
on them. In summary, our company’s use of e-logs has
been an asset to our recruiting and retention effort. None of
my coworkers has ever complained about “harassment”
from e-logs
