TOPIC GUIDE FOR TELEPHONE CALLS WITH PROGRAM DROPOUTS



This discussion guide will be used to obtain information from fathers or couples who enrolled in the RF/HM program but have not attended any program activity or only participated in a very low level of service despite having had the opportunity to do so.

Introductory script:

Purpose and use of information: Mathematica Policy Research is conducting an evaluation of fatherhood and relationship strengthening programs. As part of the evaluation we would like to learn more about your experiences with the xxxx program, even if you have not actively participated in the program services. The purpose of the evaluation is to provide information to practitioners and policymakers within multiple levels of government as well as in other sectors, to support replication or improvement of these programs. The information collected will be used to document the experiences of program participants.


Authority of collection: This evaluation is being conducted on behalf of the Administration for Children and Families. An agency may not conduct or sponsor, and a person is not required to respond to, a collection of information unless it has a current valid OMB control number. The number for this study is 0970-0403. Privacy: The information you provide will be combined with the responses of other people who enrolled in this program and discussed among the evaluation team and with federal staff at ACF. Information about people’s experiences with the program may be included in reports, but no information that could identify you personally will be shared publicly.


Voluntary Participation: Providing information for the purposes described is voluntary, and you may choose not to answer any question.

  • Supports needed and received from program to attend

  • Encouragement/discouragement from partner, relatives, friends, employers



F. Wrap-up

  • Anything additional related to program perception and experience and interest and ability to attend
