Any party that produces or imports renewable fuel in the contiguous 48 states must submit a separate RIN Generation Report for each batch of renewable fuel produced or imported during a given quarter per Sec. 80.1152(b).


This report is due quarterly. Q1 (January – March) reports are due May 31, Q2 (April – June) reports are due August 31, Q3 (July – September) reports are due November 30, and Q4 (October – December) reports are due February 28.

AAA999; Character. Enter the type of renewable fuel in the reported batch as defined in §80.1101(d). This field contains 2 parts. The first part is a character code corresponding to the renewable fuel type. The second part is a number corresponding to the feedstock used to produce the renewable fuel.

CBE: Cellulosic biomass ethanol

WDE: Waste-derived ethanol BDS: Biodiesel (mono-alky ester) NRD: Non-ester renewable diesel BTL: Butanol

BCR: Blending components derived from renewable fuel

003: Oilseeds

004: Vegetable, animal, or fish materials including fats, greases, and oils

The public reporting and recordkeeping burden for this collection of information is disclosed in the estimates of the individual report form instructions.
