Any party that produces or imports renewable fuel in the contiguous 48 states must submit a separate RIN Generation Report for each batch of renewable fuel produced or imported during a given quarter per Sec. 80.1152(b).
This report is due quarterly. Q1 (January – March) reports are due May 31, Q2 (April – June) reports are due August 31, Q3 (July – September) reports are due November 30, and Q4 (October – December) reports are due February 28.

The first part is a character code corresponding to the renewable fuel type. The second part is a number corresponding to the feedstock used to produce the renewable fuel.
