Under RFS2, RIN generating renewable fuel producers and importers may have additional reporting requirements pursuant to 40 CFR §§80.1451(b)(1)(ii)(P)-(R).
• As per 40 CFR §80.1451(b)(1)(ii)(P), producers of renewable electricity and biogas used for transportation shall report information on the total energy produced and supplied to the transportation fueling facility.
• As per 40 CFR §80.1451(b)(1)(ii)(Q), RIN generating renewable fuel producers or importers of renewable fuel that use biogas for process heat shall report total energy produced and supplied to the renewable fuel facility.
• As per 40 CFR §80.1451(b)(1)(ii)(R), RIN generating renewable fuel producers and importers of renewable fuel made from municipal solid waste shall report the amount of paper, cardboard, plastics, rubber, textiles, metals, and glass separated from municipal solid waste for recycling.
If applicable, these reports are due quarterly, and should be submitted to EPA with the EMTS RIN generation report: First quarter (January – March) reports are due May 31; Second quarter (April – June) reports are due August 31; Third quarter (July – September) reports are due November 30; Fourth
quarter (October – December) reports are due February 28.
The following fields have been added:
• Field 8: Foreign Company ID. This field is required if the reporting party is importing and generating RINs for renewable fuel produced by a registered and accepted foreign company who is producing renewable fuel that uses biogas for process heat or renewable fuel made from municipal solid waste.
• Field 9: Foreign Company Name: This field is required if the reporting party is importing and generating RINs for renewable fuel produced by a registered and accepted foreign company who is producing renewable fuel that uses biogas for process heat or renewable fuel made from municipal solid waste.
• Field 10: Foreign Company Facility ID: This field is required if the reporting party is importing and generating RINs for renewable fuel produced by a registered and accepted foreign company who is producing renewable fuel that uses biogas for process heat or renewable fuel made from municipal solid waste.
