Regulations 30 C.F.R. § 75.1702
prohibits persons from smoking or carrying smoking materials
underground or in places where there is a fire or explosion hazard.
regulations § 75.1702-1 requires a mine operator to submit a
smoking prevention plan to MSHA for approval.
Adjustments are as follows:
there was a decrease in the total number of programs submitted (144
to 97) resulting in a decrease of 23 burden hours (from 72 to 49).
A corresponding decrease occurred in the number of respondents and
responses (144 to 97). The last ICR inadvertently included the
value of monetized burden hours as an operation cost; this ICR
corrects for that entry.
