Pursuant to section 10(d) of the
Federal Advisory Committee Act, as
amended (5 U.S.C. Appendix 2); notice
is hereby given of the following
meeting.
The meeting will be closed to the
public in accordance with the
provisions set forth in sections
552b(c)(4) and 552b(c)(6), Title 5 U.S.C.,
as amended. The purpose of this
meeting is to evaluate requests for
preclinical development resources for
potential new therapeutics for the
treatment of cancer. The outcome of the
evaluation will provide information to
internal NCI committees that will
decide whether NCI should support
requests and make available contract
resources for development of the
potential therapeutic to improve the
treatment of various forms of cancer.
The research proposals and the
discussions could disclose confidential
trade secrets or commercial property
such as patentable material, and
personal information concerning
individuals associated with the
proposed research projects, the
disclosure of which would constitute a
clearly unwarranted invasion of
personal privacy.

AGENCY:
The Federal Emergency
Management Agency (FEMA), as part of
its continuing effort to reduce
paperwork and respondent burden,
invites the general public and other
Federal agencies to take this
opportunity to comment on a new
information collection. In accordance
with the Paperwork Reduction Act of
1995, this notice seeks comments
concerning applications for the Staffing
for Adequate Fire and Emergency
Response (SAFER) Grants program. The
SAFER program provides funding for
the hiring of new firefighters and the
recruitment and retention of volunteer
firefighters.
SUMMARY:
Comments must be submitted on
or before September 9, 2013.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The
Federal Fire Prevention and Control Act
of 1974 (15 U.S.C. 2201 et seq.), as
amended authorizes FEMA to comprise
the submission of applications for the
Staffing for Adequate Fire and
Emergency Response (SAFER) grants.
The information collected is grant
application information that is
necessary to assess the needs of the
applicants as well as the benefits to be
obtained from the use of funds. The
information collected through the
program’s application is the minimum
necessary to evaluate grant applications
and is necessary for FEMA to comply
with mandates delineated in the law.
SAFER applications were previously
collected under ICR No. 1660–0054. It is
now necessary for SAFER to have its
own, new collection.
