1. CIRCUMSTANCES NECESSITATING COLLECTION OF INFORMATION


Section 45N of the Internal Revenue Code provides an income tax credit for qualified mine rescue team training costs.


2. USE OF DATA


The form enables companies to compute and claim their eligible tax credit for qualified mine rescue team training costs paid or incurred.

Form 8923 is a single use form that may be electronically filed.

Periodic meetings are held between IRS personnel and representatives of various professional groups to discuss tax law and tax forms. During these meetings, there is an opportunity for those attending to make comments regarding the collection requirements under this notice.




In response to the Federal Register notice dated July 31, 2013, (78 FR 46415), we received no comments during the

comment period regarding Form 8923.
