  survey	
  is

conducted

  behalf	
  of	
  NIJ	
  by	
  The	
  RAND	
  Corporation
The	
  purpose	
  of	
  the	
  survey	
  is	
  to	
  determine	
  the	
  geospatial	
  tools,	
  techniques,	
  and	
  practices	
  used	
  by	
  law	
  enforcement	
  agencies	
  and	
  the	
  
potential	
  for	
  expanded	
  use	
  of	
  such	
  capabilities.	
  The	
  results	
  of	
  the	
  survey	
  will	
  help	
  NIJ	
  determine	
  how	
  best	
  it	
  can	
  meet	
  the	
  needs	
  and	
  
enhance	
  the	
  effectiveness	
  of	
  geospatial	
  capabilities	
  in	
  large	
  law	
  enforcement	
  agencies	
  through	
  future	
  technology	
  development	
  grants.

  The	
  survey	
  questions	
  are	
  found	
  in	
  the	
  worksheet	
  labeled	
  “Questionnaire”.	
  	
  	
  The	
  
survey	
  questionnaire	
  requests	
  identification	
  and	
  contact	
  information	
  and	
  then	
  asks	
  for	
  responses	
  to	
  thirty-­‐nine	
  questions.	
  	
  	
  Please	
  provide	
  
responses	
  to	
  the	
  questions	
  by	
  typing	
  your	
  responses	
  in	
  the	
  shaded	
  cells.	
  	
  When	
  a	
  text	
  response	
  is	
  requested,	
  the	
  cell
