General Description of Collection: The
Interagency Notice of Change in Control
is submitted by any person proposing to
acquire ownership control of an insured
state nonmember bank. The information
is used by the FDIC to determine
whether the competence, experience, or
integrity of any acquiring person
indicates it would not be in the interest
of the depositors of the bank, or in the
public interest, to permit such persons
to control the bank.

Comments are invited on: (a) Whether
the collection of information is
necessary for the proper performance of
the FDIC’s functions, including whether
the information has practical utility; (b)
the accuracy of the estimates of the
burden of the information collection,

ways to enhance the quality, utility, and
clarity of the information to be
collected; and (d) ways to minimize the
burden of the information collection on
respondents, including through the use
of automated collection techniques or
other forms of information technology.

ACTION: Notice and request for comment.
AGENCY:

In accordance with the
requirements of the Paperwork
Reduction Act (PRA) of 1995 (44 U.S.C.
chapter 35), the FDIC may not conduct
or sponsor, and the respondent is not
required to respond to, an information
collection unless it displays a currently
valid Office of Management and Budget
(OMB) control number. As part of its
continuing effort to reduce paperwork
and respondent burden, the FDIC
invites the general public and other
Federal agencies to take this
opportunity to comment on renewal of
its information collection entitled
Summary of Deposits (OMB No. 3064–
0061). At the end of the comment
period, any comments and
recommendations received will be
analyzed to determine the extent to
which the collection should be modified
prior to submission to OMB for review
and approval.
DATES: Comments must be submitted on
or before April 7, 2014.

General Description of Collection: The
annual Summary of Deposits (SOD)
survey is completed as of June 30 each
year by FDIC-insured commercial banks,
FDIC-supervised savings banks, and
insured branches of foreign banks. The
SOD is a report on the amount of
deposits for each authorized office of an
insured bank with branches; banks
without branches do not report. All data
collected on the SOD submission are
available to the public. The survey data
provides a basis for measuring the
competitive impact of bank mergers and
has additional use in research on
banking.
