Invitation

Dear _______________, REL Central is working with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education on a study of recent graduates of teacher preparation programs (TPPs) and would like to invite you to participate in the study.

REL Central is one of 10 regional educational laboratories across the country. Our mission is to help states and districts use data and analysis to answer important issues of education policy and practice with the goal of improving student outcomes. You can learn more about REL Central and the services it provides to educators in your state by visiting http://www.relcentral.org/.

The purpose of this study is to describe the student teaching and field experiences of recent graduates who completed traditional TPPs in Missouri.  Your input is critical because it will help state and program leaders better understand the clinical practice (student teaching and field experience) components of traditional TPPs and inform conversations about TPP reform or redesign.

The survey takes 25 minutes to complete. You may access the survey by clicking on the following link, or typing it into your Web browser: https://www.xxxxxxxxxxx.org.

Per the policies and procedures required by the Education Sciences Reform Act of 2002, Title I, Part E, Section 183, responses to this data collection will be used only for statistical purposes. The reports prepared for this study will summarize findings across the sample and will not associate responses with a specific school, district, or individual. We will not provide information that identifies you or your school or district to anyone outside the study team, except as required by law. Any willful disclosure of such information for nonstatistical purposes, without the informed consent of the respondent, is a Class E felony. Please contact a REL Central representative at (800) 922-3636 if you would prefer to receive a paper survey to complete, or if you no longer wish to participate, and we will remove you from our contact list so that you do not receive reminders to complete the survey.

Thank you for considering our request,

Stephen Meyer, PhD

Research and Evaluation Director
