Emergency Justification

EMERGENCY JUSTIFICATION
The Military Compensation and Retirement Modernization Commission (MCRMC) respectfully
requests emergency processing and approval of the collection of information discussed herein.
The proposed information collection is essential to the Congressionally-mandated mission of this
temporary agency and the use of normal clearance procedures will prevent timely collection of
information from military retirees, a specific class of individuals who the Commission's
deliberations will affect. Given the Commission's extensive work, Congress approved an
extension of the Commission with a reporting deadline of February 1, 2015. To be able to
provide to the President and Congress with the information required and necessary for legislation
to be proposed, the Commission must begin the survey process immediately.
