Qualitative Questions for 3-Month Follow-Up PHONE CALL

Introduction

Dear Dr./Mr./Ms. _________, thanks for taking the time to speak with us today as a follow-up to the Human Trafficking training you attended about three months ago on [DATE] at [LOCATION]. We will take about 15 minutes of your time. Your responses will help us refine the training program so we can reach more health providers on the important topic of identifying and securing services for victims of human trafficking.

  1. First, can you think of any changes you would recommend for improving the training? For instance, were there topics you would have liked to see included, or any material you felt was redundant? Would you recommend changes to the format?

  1. Have you informed your colleagues about Human Trafficking using what you learned at the training?

  1. Next, we are interested in any changes in your practice behaviors as a result of something you learned at the training. Be as specific as possible. [Prompt for 2-3 responses: e.g., “is there anything else you are doing differently?”, or “can you say more about what you’re doing differently?”.]

    1. Can you share with us whether you are doing anything differently in your practice since the training?

    2. If yes, what are you doing differently?

    3. If yes, how did the training impact this change?

  1. Can you estimate the number of human trafficking victims you identified or helped identify in the three months since the training?

    1. How does the number compare with the same time frame (3 months) BEFORE the training?

    2. Can you say something about HOW you were able to determine that the person was a victim of human trafficking?

    3. Can you describe what you did after determining that the person was a human trafficking victim? For instance, what services did you provide, or where did you refer the person for services?

  1. Are there any additional referral sources or agencies you or your practice setting has networked with since the training to better serve victims of human trafficking? [Ask for specific examples.]

  1. Moving forward, are there any additional changes in your practice behaviors that you intend to undertake as a result of what you learned about human trafficking at the training?
