IFSAC Stakeholder Survey

The Interagency Food Safety Analytics Collaboration (IFSAC) is a federal tri-agency collaboration among the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). . The goal of this collaboration is to improve coordination of federal food safety analytic efforts and address cross-cutting priorities for food safety data collection, analysis, and use. IFSAC projects and studies aim to identify foods that are important sources of illnesses.

As part of its new Strategic Plan, IFSAC seeks to identify relevant stakeholders and develop better methods for communicating with them about IFSAC products and analyses. Stakeholders include the regulated industry, consumer groups, academics, state and local public health agencies, other regulatory agencies and other interested parties.

IFSAC conducted a webinar on May 31 to inform the public about the new Strategic Plan and provide an overview of current and future analytic projects.

We wish to send participants a short web survey as a follow-up to the webinar. We intend to use the results of the survey to improve the Fall 2017 IFSAC webinar, which will focus more specifically on one of our recently completed analytic projects. We also intend to use the results of the survey to enhance our outreach, improve our engagement with stakeholders, and better disseminate information to stakeholders about IFSAC’s activities and research findings.

Approximately 135 people attended the webinar. Since we will be sending the survey to webinar participants who have already expressed interest in IFSAC activities, we anticipate approximately 70% of those who receive the survey will respond. We estimate that the survey should take no longer than 15 minutes to complete.
