The information collection is a series
of NATF Forms used by researchers to request a search for and
copies of archival records relating to genealogical research. NARA
uses the forms to conduct the search, inform respondents of the
results, and to bill respondents for the copies made.
Three other forms associated
with this ICR - NATF Form 81, National Archives Order for Copies of
Ship Passenger Arrival Records; NATF Form 82, National Archives
Order for Copies of Federal population census schedules through the
1930 census; and NATF Form 83, National Archives Order for Copies
of Eastern Cherokee Applications of the U.S. Court of Claims, 1906
- 1909, are voluntary commercial transactions, and as such, are not
covered under the PRA and were removed. See also
