Consultations Outside the Agency: The Department published a notice in the Federal Register on August 18, 2014 at 79 Fed. Reg. 159, soliciting public comment during a 60-day comment period on possible revisions to the form used by the Office of Special Counsel for Immigration-Related Unfair Employment Practices (OSC) to receive and process allegations of employment-related discrimination under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b. The Department received no comments in response to the 60-day notice.

The Department has decided to make two minor revisions to the charge form nonetheless. First, in Section 2 of the form, it has modified the field asking for an Injured Party’s Alien number. The form now asks for “Alien #/USCIS #.” Second, the Department has clarified the description of “Retaliation for Asserting Rights Protected Under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b” in Section 4 to be more consistent with the statute.
