T ITLE OF INFORMATION COLLECTION: US-Japan Cooperative Medical Sciences Program (USJCMSP) 50th Anniversary and 18th International Conference on Emerging Infectious Diseases in the Pacific Rim


PURPOSE:


The Office of Global Research (OGR) of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) sponsors conferences around the world, and will be sponsoring a conference in Bethesda, Maryland on January 11 – January 15, 2016. NIAID is interested in knowing the participant’s overall satisfaction with what they learned at the conference. This survey is part of a customer satisfaction assessment to examine the NIAID’s conference and workshop implementation and grantees’ perceptions to date. The information collected will enable the Office of Global Research to improve future conferences.


DESCRIPTION OF RESPONDENTS:


Potential survey respondents are the participants of the US-Japan Cooperative Medical Sciences Program (USJCMSP) 50th Anniversary and 18th International Conference on Emerging Infectious Diseases in the Pacific Rim, including both American scientists and scientists from Japan and the Asia-Pacific region. We are expecting more than 150 non-FTE attendees.

The survey will be provided to all the participants at the USJCMSP during the conference, with an option for paper or web-based submission. The survey will also include a question for participants to indicate whether they are government employees or not. The conference registration is not complete; therefore, the list of specific participants is not yet available. We anticipate hosting more than 150 non-FTE participants at the conference. The surveys will be administered and collected by Tatyana Yeremina.
