TITLE OF INFORMATION COLLECTION:

NLM NCBI Gene Resources Website Survey


PURPOSE:

The purpose of this National Library of Medicine (NLM) survey is to collect qualitative customer service delivery information from users of The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) Gene website. The Gene website provides detailed information for known and predicted genes defined by nucleotide sequence or map position. The purpose of this survey study is to better understand the website user needs and review the study results for re-design of the website to meet those needs.


DESCRIPTION OF RESPONDENTS:

The respondents will be a representative sample of public users of the NCBI Gene website who are largely scientists/researchers, but may also include software engineers, medical professionals, and other members of the public

The selection of your targeted respondents

Respondents will be identified by producing a list of email addresses for a representative sample of NCBI-gene users by generating a pop-up for a random draw of users who complete a specific sequence of pages. We expect to create an initial list of 2600 respondents to the screener/survey. Of these we expect to contact 267.
