The information collection requires
manufacturers of transmitters for the Medical Device
Radiocommunication Service (MedRadio) to include with each
transmitting device a statement regarding harmful interference and
to label the device in a conspicuous location on the device. It
also requires the manufacturers to register the frequencies with
the "Database Coordinator. The requirements will allow use of
potential life-saving medical technology without causing
interference to other users of the bands. This submission is being
made for non-substantive change to an existing information
collection pursuant to 44 U.S.C. § 3507. On August 20, 2014, the
Federal Communications Commission (Commission or FCC) adopted an
Order on Reconsideration and Second Report and Order (R&O) in
ET Docket No. 08-59, FCC 14-124. The proceeding finalized the
process for selecting a "Medical Body Area Network" (MBAN)
Coordinator. The coordinator will facilitate use of the MBAN
frequencies, which operate in share-use bands. Section 95.1225(c)
was added. We previously received OMB approval for Section 95.1225
on November 26, 2013. The requested change will not increase nor
decrease the number of respondents/responses, total burden hours or
cost in the "Medical Device Radiocommunications Service"
information collection 3060-0936.
