Revisions to the Collection Instrument

SSA is making the following revisions to the collect instrument:

Change 1: We are renaming the IWAG screen to the Wages screen in the web-based system. The changes to the IWAG screen simply modify how the technician captures the information collected.

Justification 1: We modernized the IWAG screen into a web-based system that allows the technician to capture pre-collected information in a more user-friendly format. The technician can now specify the type of income received by the applicant and related parties.

Change 2: We are renaming the IOTH screen to the Other Income screen in the web-based system. The changes to the IOTH screen simply modify how the technician captures the information collected.

Justification 2: We modernized the IOTH screen into a web-based system that allows the technician to capture pre-collected information in a more user-friendly format. The technician is now presented with a drop down menu that specifies the type of income owned by the applicant and related parties. 

Change 3: We are renaming the ISSA screen to the Social Security Benefit screen in the web-based system.

Justification 3: We modernized the ISSA screen into a web-based system that allows the technician to capture pre-collected information in a more user-friendly format. The technician can now specify the type of income received by the applicant and related parties.

Change 4: We are renaming the IPEN screen to the Pension, Annuity, Retirement, or Payment screen in the web-based system.

Justification 4: We modernized the IPEN screen into a web-based system that allows the technician to capture pre-collected information in a more user-friendly format. The technician can now specify the type of income owned by the applicant and related parties.

We will implement these revisions upon OMB’s approval.
