A message from the Director, U.S. Census Bureau

The U.S. Census Bureau is currently conducting the 2015 Quarterly Survey of Public Pensions (Form F-10). We have selected your system(s) for the quarterly survey. The Quarterly Survey of Public Pensions is a quarterly survey that provides national summary data on the revenues, expenditures, and composition of assets of the largest defined benefit public employee pension systems for state and local governments. This survey currently consists of a panel of 100 pension systems, which comprise 88.4 percent of financial activity among such entities, based on the 2012 Census of Governments. The Census Bureau will use your information to produce national totals on the composition of financial assets for this significant group of institutional investors. We do not intend to publish any data relating to specific systems reported in this survey.

The Census Bureau conducts the survey and requests your voluntary assistance under the authority of Title 13 U.S.C., Sections 161 and 182. We estimate this survey to take between 30 minutes and 2 hours to complete. At the bottom of this email you will find disclosure descriptions regarding Office of Management and Budget number; authority and confidentiality; and burden estimate statement. Please respond to this survey for the calendar quarter ending Month XX, 201X. You can complete your form online by following the instructions provided. You may also use your existing username and password to log in to https://respond.census.gov/qspp. Please complete this questionnaire within 30 days.

Please utilize your expertise and judgment in completing the survey. If actual data are not available, carefully prepared estimates are acceptable.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation. If you have additional questions, please call my staff on 1-888-529-196 or email [email protected].

Sincerely,

John H. Thompson

Director
