Hello, please help us (NOAA) to better understand the importance of longline fishing in American Samoa. Your details of fishing expenditures are important to ensure accurate results. We want to best represent American Samoa fishermen, and we can only do that by hearing from as many fishermen as possible. While your response is voluntary, we hope that you can help us in this research.

Public reporting burden for this collection of information is estimated to average 30 minutes per response including the time for reviewing instructions, searching existing data sources, gathering and maintaining the data needed, and completing and reviewing the collection of information. V. Labor Costs
In the following questions the terms ‘share’ and ‘percentage’ (%) are generally interpreted as the same concept —part of the revenue from a fishing trip goes towards the crew. This is in contrast to ‘flat rate’ ($) which is when a crewmember earns the same amount of money regardless of the revenues from a fishing trip.
