The information (i.e., voyage plan) serves as a preventive measure and assists in ensuring the successful execution and completion of a voyage in the First Coast Guard District.

Title 33 CFR Part 165 is available at— http://www.ecfr.gov, select TITLE 33 – NAVIGATION AND NAVIGABLE WATERS, and follow to Part 165, section 165.100.

When must information be submitted to the Coast Guard?

The information is not submitted to the Coast Guard (CG), rather it is maintained on board the vessel. The voyage plan may be in paper or electronic format.

How is the information submitted?

The information is not submitted to the CG, rather it is maintained on board the vessel.

What happens when complete information is received?

The information will be verified during normal CG inspections. No specific documentation will be issued by the CG.
