Part 5 allows applicants for conventional, program, medical and compliance testing for experimental licenses are required to file FCC Form 442. Applicants are generally electronic equipment manufacturers. The FCC will use the information to determine if the applicant is eligible for an experimental license, to comply with the the requirements of Part 5 of the FCC rules and if the proposed operation will cause interference to existing operations.

There has been a program change in the reporting, recordkeeping requirements and/or third party disclosure requirements. The number of respondents increased from 400 to 495, therefore, the annual burden hours increased from 2,240 to 3,048.75 (3,049) and the cost has also increased from $32,400.00 to $41,600. The increases for collection OMB Control No. 3060-0065 are also due to consolidating the information collection requirements that were contained under OMB Control No. 3060-0758. Some of the rules in (3060-0758) were deleted and the others rules were modified and included in this collection.
