This is Ricky. Ricky is with his mom at the doctor’s office. He has a specific illness and the
doctor knows of a research study that is looking at a new treatment that might help him
or kids like him.

There are many reasons to
be in this study.

After listening to the doctor for a few minutes, Ricky feels comfortable to ask the doctor

Ricky decides to participate in the research. He is at the research site with his mom. They
have some questions for the researchers.

It is the second month of the study. Ricky is at the research site for his weekly check-in. He
is feeling good. The research asks him to answer some questions on a questionnaire.

Ricky is now half way through the study and is on his way home from an appointment with
his mom. Although he hasn’t had to miss much school, he is missing getting to play games
