Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

Employment and Training (E&T) Study

Survey Flyer

WHAT IS THE STUDY ABOUT? The study will help us to learn about clients experiences with SNAP, working, and training.

WHO IS CONDUCTING THE STUDY? The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) is leading the study, with the help of Mathematica Policy Research, a research company from New Jersey.

HOW WERE PEOPLE PICKED FOR THE STUDY? We picked people at random from a list of SNAP participants that states gave us.

WHY SHOULD PEOPLE HELP? We will use what clients tell us to make the program better.

WHAT DO PEOPLE HAVE TO DO? If picked, clients will get a letter about a survey, that can be filled-out online or by calling a toll-free number. Someone from the study team will also call people for interviews. They will ask about work and training experiences. There are no right or wrong answers!

HOW LONG WILL THE SURVEY TAKE? The survey will take about 20 minutes. After it is completed online or by calling the study team, participants will get a $40 VISA gift card by mail as a token of appreciation. If the study team calls the client for the survey, they will get a $20 gift card. This will not affect any of the benefits the household receives.

DO PEOPLE HAVE TO TAKE THE SURVEY? No. The study is voluntary, and there are no penalties for not taking the survey, but it would be very helpful if you did.

WHO CAN PEOPLE TALK TO ABOUT THIS STUDY? If you have any questions, please call us at: [1-800-XXXX]. For more information about the study team, go to www.mathematica-mpr.com.

IS THERE SOMEONE AT SNAP TO TALK TO ABOUT THIS STUDY? Call [NAME] at [AGENCY] at [(XXX) XXX-XXX] for more information.
