The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Bureau of Reclamation and Bonneville Power Administration are currently preparing an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) related to the operation and configuration of the Columbia River and Lower Snake River system. The EIS may consider operational changes that could impact navigation on the Columbia/Snake River system. In order to assess the potential impacts of alternative operational scenarios, we need to know more about the transportation and shipping decisions you make when shipping your commodities. The attached link goes to a questionnaire titled “2018 Columbia/Snake River Navigational Survey” for you to complete for each facility utilizing river navigation. It would be very helpful if you would answer the questionnaire even if you do not currently use the Columbia/Snake River system for your shipping needs. You can also do the survey online at:

It is beneficial to include your opinions and decisions regarding shipping and transportation choices available in the region. We hope you will complete and return the questionnaire so that this important information is compiled.
We would be happy to answer any questions that you might have about this study or your participation. Feel free to call us at (800) xxx-xxxx and ask for the Transportation Choice Survey, or send a fax message to (509) 335-xxxx. You can also email me at [email protected] if you prefer.
