The Secretary of Defense is authorized
to enter into arrangements to provide for the elementary and
secondary education of certain members of the armed forces and
civilian employees of the Federal Government. Authority to operate
these schools or arrangements has been delegated by the Secretary
of Defense to the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA)
Domestic Dependent Elementary and Secondary Schools (DDESS). In
order to determine eligibility for enrollment it is necessary for
the agency to collect information from each sponsor to prove
dependency, employment and residential status on a school year
basis.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
