Abstract: The Secretary of Defense is authorized to enter into arrangements to provide for the elementary and secondary education of certain members of the armed forces and civilian employees of the Federal Government. Authority to operate these schools or arrangements has been delegated by the Secretary of Defense to the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Domestic Dependent Elementary and Secondary Schools (DDESS). In order to determine eligibility for enrollment it is necessary for the agency to collect information from each sponsor to prove dependency, employment and residential status on a school year basis.
