In the next ICR
submission for the Quarterly Summary of State and Local Government
Tax Revenues, the Census Bureau shall include a separate report on
its efforts to improve the response rates on the F-71 and F-73
reports together with the results of those efforts. Prior to the
commencement of the Quarterly Summary of State and Local Government
Tax Revenues distribution, the Census Bureau shall provide on its
Internet site prominent links to the finalized survey, including

the 2012 Economic Census. The final survey and letters shall
reflect any changes in the survey year, OMB number expiration date,

The Census Bureau conducts the
Quarterly Summary of State and Local Government Tax Revenue using
the F-71 form (Quarterly Survey of Property Tax Collections), the
F-72 form (Quarterly Survey of State Tax Collections), and the F-73
form (Quarterly Survey of Non-Property Taxes). The Quarterly
Summary of State and Local Government Tax Revenue provides
quarterly estimates of state and local government tax revenue at
the national level, as well as detailed tax revenue data for
individual states.
The sample size for the F-71
component was adjusted downward by 33 units due to fewer reporters
in the universe, but the burden per respondent is not changing
since the questions remain the same.
