The standard requires employers to
train workers about the hazards of DBCP, to monitor worker
exposure, to provide medical surveillance, and maintain accurate
records of worker exposure to DBCP. These records will be used by
employers, workers, physicians and the Government to ensure that
workers are not harmed by exposure to DBCP in the workplace. OSHA
is proposing to remove the requirements for employers to collect
and record an employee’s social security number (SSN) on exposure
monitoring and medical surveillance records. Time to document SSN
in records is negligible and therefore, the Agency is not
requesting changes to the burden hour or cost estimates in this
ICR.
